Sunday Pulpit Series

Recovery: 12
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

The “Rhema word” that the Lord gave to David in Ziklag, was crystal clear.
1 Samuel 30:8b NKJV
“And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

God’s “Rhema word” wipes away sorrows and all tears.
Psalms 30:5 NKJV
“For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

David constantly sought for guidance from the Lord before all his battles.
The Philistines launched an attack against David after he became king.
2 Samuel 5:18 NKJV
“The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.”

David enquired of the Lord for direction.
2 Samuel 5:19 NKJV
“So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?”
And the LORD said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

David won a fabulous victory.
2 Samuel 5:20 NKJV
“So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.”
Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.”

The Philistines launched yet another attack.
2 Samuel 5:22 NKJV
“Then the Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.”

David took no chances. He was not complacent. He enquired of God again.
2 Samuel 5:23 NKJV
“Therefore David inquired of the LORD, and He said, “You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees.”

David won his battles by “Rhema.”

May you win all your battles, as you go to church.
