Sunday Pulpit Series

Recovery: 2
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

To recover is to get back everything that you lost. The history of mankind is a story of recovery, after man lost what God gave to him originally.
Man’s first loss was a loss of innocence.
Genesis 3:7 NKJV
“Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.”

The root cause of Adam and Eve’s loss was their sin of disobedience and rebellion.
Genesis 3:6 NKJV
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”

Adam and Eve had lost their fellowship with God. They were now filled with fear at the thought of meeting God, instead of boldness.
Genesis 3:10 NKJV
“So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

The Lord God identified the reason for their last innocence. Indeed there was only one possible reason.
Genesis 3:11 NKJV
“And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

Ultimately, Satan is the root cause of every human loss, but that does not absolve men from responsibility, and guilt. Satan could only rob Adam and Eve with their active consent. Satan got Eve to cooperate with him by deception.
1 Timothy 2:14 NKJV
“And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.”

Satan deceived Eve to cooperate with him.
Satan is a limited being. He didn’t have the power to force Adam and Eve to eat the Forbidden Fruit. Satan had to rely on tricks.

May you flow in the power of the gospel as you go to your selected 1 hour service.
