The James Camp Prison

is a unit of the Ghana Police Service located at Roman ridge , Kawukudi junction, it was set-up in 1948 and serves as one of the oldest prison establishments in the country.Burdened about the dietary needs of the inmates at the James Camp Prison (JCP), the Ampiah-Kwofi World Outreach (AKWO) continues with its initiative to feed the inmates weekly as a means of supplementary support.The James Camp Prison serves as the commercial and industrial hub of Ghana Police service.

The James Camp Prison is currently under the Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Mrs Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, The prison admits inmates who are to serve minimal sentences, inmates with few months to be reintroduced into the society. The inmates first go through safe custody, Reformation, which involves the transformation of the inmates before the final stage of reintegration back into society.

The Ampiah-Kwofi World Outreach headed by the General Overseer of the Global Revival Ministers Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi has for the past two years consistently as part of its weekly program supported the James Camp Prison with food items to help meet the nutritional needs of the inmates.

On the 12th of December 2018

The Staff of The Ampiah-Kwofi World Outreach lead by the Head Pastor Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi and his wife Madam Adwoa Abrafi Ampiah-Kwofi accompanied the deputy general overseer of Global Revival Ministry Rev. Jones Owusu Afriyie , Mr. Prince Agyakwa Baiden, Madam Sylvia Ahadzi, Ms. Xorse Ahadzi and Mr. Samuel Yarboi visited the Unit to have fellowship with the inmates as well as donate food items namely Oil, Rice, Soaps as well as other food items and learning Materials. This year’s donation coincided with the 60th birthday anniversary of the President, Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi.

Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi at a Church service held by the Prisons Chaplaincy Board Preached a message of Restoration, Hope and Salvation to the inmates with the story of Moses, Joseph and Jesus and the story of the two thieves who were on the cross with Jesus, explaining that at different points in their lives they went through some troubles and even prison situations but that place was not their end point, he quoted that change will come if we call upon the Lord.

The servant of the lord offered prayer for the prisoners inspired them through the word of God and encouraged them to trust in the Lord.
