The Pauline Revelation: 35

On the way to greatness there are often quiet periods, when it appears nothing is happening.
Moses had a quiet period of 40 years in Midian.
Moses left Egypt at 40 years of age.
Acts 7:23-24 NKJV
“Now when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel. And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended and avenged him who was oppressed, and struck down the Egyptian.”

*Moses fled to Midian as a fugitive.
Acts 7:29 NKJV
“Then, at this saying, Moses fled and became a dweller in the land of Midian..”

There followed a quiet season of 40 years.
Acts 7:30 NKJV
“And when forty years had passed, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush….”

Our Lord Jesus had a quiet season of 18 years starting at age 12.
Luke 2:42 NKJV
“And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.”

He stayed back and had discussions with the rabbis.
Luke 2:46 NKJV
“Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.”

Christ’s record then became silent until He began His ministry at 30.
Luke 3:23a NKJV
“Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age…,”

Paul also had a 3-year silent period in Arabia and Damascus.
Galatians 1:17-18a NKJV
“nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter….”
