The Twelve Apostles of the Lamb, were both chosen and faithful. Men are chosen by the mercy and grace of God.
Romans 9:15 NKJV
“For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”
Jesus chose the Twelve.
John 15:16a NKJV
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit…”
Christ called those who He wanted to be part of The Twelve.
Mark 3:13-14 NKJV
“And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,”
They were illiterate men from very humble backgrounds.
Acts 4:13a NKJV
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled…”
The twelve apostles were mainly uneducated fishermen.
Matthew 4:18-19 NKJV
“And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
They were chosen by grace but they had to be faithful to be with Him.
Revelation 17:14 NKJV
“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
