The first twelve apostles chosen by Christ are a special group that no one else can join.
They are called the “Apostles of the Lamb” and they have a special place in heaven.
Revelation 21:14 NKJV
“Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”
The twelve apostles earned their exalted place in heaven by faithful service to Christ.
Matthew 19:27 NKJV
“Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”
Jesus promised them an exalted place in His kingdom.
Matthew 19:28 NKJV
“So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
The Twelve Apostles became close friends of Christ that stuck with Him through all challenges.
Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
The Twelve Apostles faithfully stayed with Christ through all His trials.
Luke 22:28 NKJV
“But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials.”
Jesus promised to honour them for their loyalty.
Luke 22:29-30 NKJV
“And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
