Morning Message of Motivation

The Pauline Revelation: 20
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

New things invariably face resistance.
The Jews consistently resisted the Holy Ghost.
Acts 7:51 NKJV
“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.”

The Insulted Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 20:8 NIV
“Whenever I speak, I cry out
proclaiming violence and destruction.
So the word of the LORD has brought me
insult and reproach all day long.”

They denounced Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 20:10a NIV
“I hear many whispering, “Terror on every side! Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!”

They fought Jeremiah using “Ill wishes.
Jeremiah 20:10b NIV
“…All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, “Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.”

They accused Jeremiah of desertion.
Jeremiah 37:13b NIV
“…Irijah son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, arrested him and said, “You are deserting to the Babylonians!”

They beat and jailed Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 37:15 NIV
“They were angry with Jeremiah and had him beaten and imprisoned in the house of Jonathan the secretary, which they had made into a prison.”

God told Jeremiah not to fear them.
Jeremiah 1:8 NIV
“Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.”

God gave Paul similar assurances in Corinth.
Acts 18:9-10 NIV
“One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

May you have divine reassurance of God’s protection. May the Lord anoint you for greater works, in Jesus’s name.
