The main purpose of most revelation is to avert a negative future outcome.
Our Lord Jesus had a revelation about Satan’s plan to destroy Peter.
Luke 22:31 NKJV
“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.”
Satan’s evil plan was to destroy Peter’s faith. Jesus countered that evil plan by prayer.
Some revelation calls for intercessory prayer.
Luke 22:32 NKJV
“But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Satan was engineering a temptation that would make Peter deny Christ.
Jesus could not pray away the temptation. Indeed, Jesus Himself predicted the temptation.
Luke 22:34 NKJV
“Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”
Christ’s prayer ensured that Peter would rise again after he fell.
God gave Joseph a dream to protect the young child Jesus.
“Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
Prayer was not the answer to this revelation, so God did not ask Joseph to pray.
Wise actions however could stop Herod.
Herod was surely going to attempt to kill Christ, but by obeying the instructions of God, the outcome would be changed. Christ would live on and Herod rather would die.
Matthew 2:20 NKJV
“saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
May almighty God protect you and your loved ones by His power. May all satanic desires targeted at you fail, in Jesus’s name.
