Pharaoh had two amazing dreams. The two dreams had similar characteristics. The first was of seven cows, and the second was seven stalks of corn.
Genesis 41:22-24a NKJV
“Also I saw in my dream, and suddenly seven heads came up on one stalk, full and good. Then behold, seven heads, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprang up after them. And the thin heads devoured the seven good heads.”
Pharaoh’s dreams were very unique for several reasons.
•Firstly, Pharaoh had no connection to Jehovah. The people of God in those days were the descendants of Abraham, through the twelve sons of Jacob. Pharaoh was a worshipper of idols that Jehovah hated.
Exodus 12:12 NKJV
“For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.”
Normally Pharaoh would be disqualified from receiving revelation from God, but those times were extraordinary times. The next 14 years would be extraordinary years.
The first seven years would produce extraordinary harvests.
Genesis 41:29 NKJV
“Indeed seven years of great plenty will come throughout all the land of Egypt;”
The weather and the soil would be very favourable.
*The following seven years would be years of very terrible famine.
Genesis 41:30 NKJV
“but after them seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land.”
Many people were going to die in the seven years of famine, but the Lord gave Pharaoh the dreams to save many people from starvation.
