Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was a remarkable revelation that predicted the rise and fall of many future kingdoms over a period of several hundreds of years. The kingdoms were represented by a statue.
Daniel 2:31-32 NKJV
“You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,”
The dream also revealed some aspects of God’s nature and power.
Daniel 2:20-21 NKJV
“And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
•Firstly, almighty God changes times and seasons.
Times and seasons change according to God’s purposes.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
“To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:”
Kingdoms can appear so powerful and well established that we cannot imagine their ending, but God ends kingdoms and establishes new ones.
Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom was the richest and most powerful in history.
Daniel 2:37 NKJV
“You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory;”
Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom covered the whole earth, and was represented by the head of gold in the vision.
Daniel 2:38 NKJV
“and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—you are this head of gold.”
Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom would ultimately fail and be succeeded by an inferior kingdom.
Daniel 2:39a NKJV
“But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours….”
May a brighter and better new season begin in your life. May the Lord grant you total restoration, in Jesus’s name.
