Almighty God blessed Daniel and his companions and Nebuchadnezzar promoted them because God’s hand was on them.
They soon faced an unusual challenge.
Nebuchadnezzar had dreamed a dream, that agitated his spirit.
Daniel 2:1 NKJV
“Now in the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was so troubled that his sleep left him.”
The problem was that he couldn’t remember his dream.
He called for his wise men who were skilled in interpreting dreams, but they also needed to know the dream before they could interpret it.
Daniel 2:4 NKJV
“Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in Aramaic, “O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation.”
They had the ability to interpret dreams, but they couldn’t tell forgotten dreams.
Nebuchadnezzar however became furious and threatened to kill all the wise men.
Daniel 2:5 NKJV
“The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, “My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap.”
The wise men tried to reason with Nebuchadnezzar.
Daniel 2:10 NKJV
“The Chaldeans answered the king, and said, “There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean.”
They told Nebuchadnezzar that no other king had ever made such a demand. They rightly stated that it would require divine intervention to reveal the forgotten dream.
Daniel 2:11 NKJV
“It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
Nebuchadnezzar became more furious. Finally, it would take Daniel’s faith to save the situation.
May your faith bring you deliverance from every troublesome situation. May your God make you different from others, in Jesus’s name.
