Paul and Barnabas: 4
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

The key to the extraordinary results that flowed from the partnership of Paul and Barnabas, was their full embrace of their special mission. Paul magnified his ministry to the Gentiles.
Romans 11:13 NKJV
“For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,”

They understood that the Holy Ghost had called them for a special work.
Acts 13:2 NKJV
“As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

We often rightly preach separation from the world and from sin.
2 Corinthians 6:17 NKJV
“Therefore “Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

This is the primary separation required of every Believer. This separation is to maintain holiness and a constant unblemished fellowship with God.
However there are other levels of separation.
Our Lord Jesus separated Himself for the sake of humanity.
John 17:19 NKJV
“And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.”

This kind of separation is not from evil things, but rather from all things that are not helpful to a man’s purpose, even though the things may generally be good things.
Paul and Barnabas had to give up their responsibilities in the Antioch church.
The Holy Ghost asked the prophets and teachers in Antioch to separate Paul and Barnabas unto Him. Paul and Barnabas had to be relieved of their jobs in the Antioch church. They could not combine their pastoral and teaching work in Antioch with the intensive travelling of the apostolic mission.
1 Corinthians 10:23 NKJV
“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.”

May any lawful thing that will hinder your success in life be removed. May the helpers of your destiny be released to you, in Jesus’s name.
