Barnabas had to go and search for Saul in Tarsus, where the apostles had secretly sent him to escape from his persecutors.
Our Lord Jesus told His disciples to escape from persecution whenever possible.
Matthew 10:22-23 NKJV
“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”
The children of God must be focused on their mission of winning the lost at any cost. The aim of all persecution is to stop the preaching of God’s word, and to hinder the Believers from manifesting their faith. The solution to persecution is more preaching, in more places.
The Twelve prayed for boldness to continue to preach when Peter and John were threatened for preaching.
Acts 4:29 NKJV
“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,”
They had to resist fear and intimidation and continue their ministry. The Holy Ghost came upon them and injected supernatural boldness into their spirits.
Acts 4:31 NKJV
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”
The apostolic company helped Peter and John to overcome the persecution.
Persecution also tried to isolate Saul in Tarsus, but Barnabas intervened by going to look for him. Barnabas brought him back into Antioch, which had become the headquarters of a great move of God to the Gentile world.
A place of maximum effectiveness.
The best place for a man like Saul who had a special calling to the Gentiles, was the church of Antioch. It was the first church that was made up entirely of Gentile converts.
May you be located in your place of highest effectiveness. May all satanic persecution against you fail, in Jesus’s name.
