Morning Message of Motivation

Apostolic patience: 1
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi

Apostle Paul spoke of two distinctions of an apostle of Christ.
•The first sign was the sign of “Patience.”
•The second sign was “Wonders, miracles and mighty deeds.”
2 Corinthians 12:12 KJV
“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.”

Spiritual “Patience” is persistence. It is the capacity to keep on persevering against immense opposition. The apostles faced tremendous opposition.
2 Corinthians 7:5 NKJV
“For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.”

Some of the opposition they faced was from human beings.
2 Timothy 4:14-15 NKJV
“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.”

There are certain people that Believers must be very wary about.
Philippians 3:2 NKJV
“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!”

Paul did not mince his words in denouncing the Jewish enemies. Some were constantly fighting for the circumcision of the Gentile believers. He called them dogs and described their circumcision as mutilation.
Acts 15:1 NKJV
“And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

The Jews often incited the Gentiles to kill the apostles.
Acts 14:19 NKJV
“Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.”

Paul however didn’t die. He arose and continued his ministry.

May you always overcome all opposition and continue to succeed in your endeavours. May you do greater works, in Jesus’s name.
